For Authors

Publish your ebook with a link — no platform gatekeepers

Upload your ebook as a PDF or HTML and get a hosted URL you can share with readers directly. No platform fees, no DRM lock-in, no approval process. Track how many people open it and update chapters whenever you want.

Why authors use Hostupa to publish ebooks

Traditional ebook platforms take a cut of your revenue, impose DRM that frustrates readers, and require approval processes that can take weeks. Hostupa gives authors a simpler path: upload the ebook file, get a shareable link, and distribute it directly to your audience — through email, social media, or your own website. You keep full control of pricing, distribution, and updates.

How it works

1

Upload your ebook

Export your ebook as a PDF or package it as an HTML site. Upload it to Hostupa and get a hosted URL with a built-in reader.

2

Share with readers

Distribute the link through your email list, social media, or website. Readers open it in their browser — no e-reader app required.

3

Update chapters anytime

Re-upload to fix typos, add chapters, or release a new edition. The URL stays the same, so readers always access the latest version.

Frequently asked questions

Can I publish an ebook for free on Hostupa?

Yes. The free plan lets you host a limited number of projects, which is enough for a single ebook. You get a hostupa.com subdomain with SSL. Readers open the link in their browser and read without downloading anything or installing an e-reader app.

What ebook formats does Hostupa support?

Hostupa supports PDF (the most common ebook format) and HTML (for interactive ebooks with internal links, images, and styling). EPUB files are not directly viewable in the browser viewer — convert them to PDF or HTML before uploading for the best reader experience.

Do readers need an e-reader app to view my ebook?

No. Readers open the hosted link in their web browser and the ebook displays in a built-in viewer. They can navigate pages, zoom, and read on any device — desktop, tablet, or phone. No Kindle, Apple Books, or any other e-reader app is required.

Can I charge for my ebook on Hostupa?

Hostupa does not include built-in payment processing, but you can sell access through any platform — Gumroad, Stripe, PayPal — and then share the hosted ebook link with paying customers. Password-protect the ebook so only customers who paid receive the password.

Can I update my ebook after publishing it?

Yes. Re-upload the updated file to the same project and the URL stays identical. Readers who bookmarked the link will see the latest version on their next visit. This is useful for fixing typos, adding chapters, or releasing revised editions without distributing new download links.
