Data we collect
We collect your name, email address, and authentication tokens when you create an account. When you upload files, we store the file content and metadata (file name, size, type, upload date). We also collect usage data including page views, IP addresses (hashed for analytics), browser type, device type, and referrer URLs to operate and improve the service.
How we use your data
Your data is used to provide the hosting service, authenticate your identity, process billing, enforce usage limits, detect abuse, send transactional emails (account notifications, team invites, billing alerts), and generate anonymized analytics. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Third-party services
We use Polar for payment processing, Resend for transactional email delivery, and Cloudflare for CDN and DNS services. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing the data they process on our behalf.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication sessions and password-protected project access. We use a referral tracking cookie (mini_host_ref) to attribute signups to referral links. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Uploaded files are retained for as long as the associated project exists. When you delete a project or account, associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Your rights
You can access, update, or delete your account data at any time from your account settings. You can delete individual projects and their files from the dashboard. To request a full data export or account deletion, use the contact form at www.hostupa.com/contact.
Security
We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit, encrypt sensitive data at rest, and follow security best practices for authentication and access control. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We regularly review our security practices.
